There are 9 days in the Chattanooga Riverbend festival. My plans are not to post for all 9 days, but to give something of the variety and the flavor of the special annual event. My previous 2 posts are here.
Riverbend Day 1
Riverbend Day 2
The festival has grown in 28 years from an attendance of 1000 to over 650,000 during the 9 days of the festival.
Each night has its own character, each is different. The festival is about coming together, and it is about the music.
It is Chattanooga's Home Coming.
The Sunday main concert is performed with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera Orchestra (the CSO). The CSO deserves its own special localism post. Chattanooga is blessed to have a quality symphony and opera that contributes to the local culture on so many levels. As the year progresses, I will post about some of the CSO events.
At Riverbend, on the Sunday main stage, the CSO backs up the performance of the night's main act. Generally, the CSO gives a mini concert before the main act. This year the main act was America. The entire hour and half was America with the CSO backing up.
It was a tremendous show.
Some of the playlist for America.
Also playing that night were the Ohio Players. Here is a play list for them.
Ohio players and the large crowd listening
Angel Snow is a touring artist born and raised in nearby Chickamauga, GA. This lady is worth hearing. I could not pull a play list for her, but here is a link to her myspace music. Please listen to her songs there. WOW!I have had her songs going all day today. Wow again.

Here are photos of two young dancers who participated in the youth talent show last year as 12 year olds. They were invited back to perform again this year on one of the big stages. Riverbend is a show case for local talent and the kids have for the last several years had a special place in the festival.
